Amid stalled ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza war, Israeli forces conducted overnight air and ground strikes on Rafah, attempting to advance further west, according to residents. Intense clashes between Israeli troops and Hamas-led Palestinian fighters were reported.
Residents stated that tanks controlling the border with Egypt made several incursions westward and into central Rafah, injuring several trapped residents who were caught off guard.
Israeli forces also conducted ground operations in the Al-Bureij camp in central Gaza, while heavily bombarding two other camps and a nearby city with planes and tanks, resulting in several Palestinian casualties, medics reported.
