Cape Town: The South African Communist Party (SACP) welcomes the United Nations General Assembly resolution calling on the Israeli regime to end its illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories within twelve months. “We reiterate our unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people in their just struggle for freedom and strongly condemn the apartheid Israeli settler regime’s occupation of Palestinian land and continued violation of the Palestinian people’s human rights”, said SACP in a press statement.

The UN General Assembly (UNGA) has passed a resolution calling for the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories to end within one year. In a vote held on Wednesday, 124 countries supported the resolution in favor of Palestine, while 14 countries, including the United States and Israel, opposed it. Additionally, 43 countries, including India, abstained from voting.
