Actress Attempted to Blackmail and Extort Money, Claims Actor Mukesh; Vows Legal Action

Date:

Kochi: Actor Mukesh has alleged that the actress who has raised accusations against him had previously attempted to blackmail him for money. Mukesh stated that he would not succumb to blackmail and emphasized that those trying to destroy others’ lives by creating a smokescreen of allegations must be isolated. The actress had requested significant financial assistance from him. When he expressed his inability to help, she asked for at least one lakh rupees and sent him a message on WhatsApp requesting this amount. After he refused to give the money, the actress informed him in another message that she had asked people from a particular community to intervene. A few days later, another person claiming to be her husband called him, demanding a large sum of money. Mukesh alleged that this group, which had repeatedly blackmailed him for money, has now turned against him at the first opportunity. He stated that he still possesses the messages they sent him and is revealing this matter based on the evidence he has.

Mukesh’s Facebook post reads as follows:

“The truth must come out. I will face this legally. I welcome the investigations into the allegations raised against me and my fellow film professionals. An objective and transparent investigation is essential in this matter. Only then will the truth behind these allegations, widely discussed by the public, come to light. As an actor and a public representative, I have a responsibility to society. Coming from a family with a strong theater tradition, I understand the pain and anxiety of those in the artistic community more than anyone else. My mother, who began acting at the age of 14, continues to do so at 87. I have no complaints against those who seek to politically target me. Similar allegations were raised in 2018, leading to the same political drama, which the public dismissed. I now present some explanations, backed by evidence, to demonstrate my innocence to those who judge me.

In 2009, a woman, introducing herself as someone seeking opportunities in the film industry, contacted me by phone and later visited my home for a personal meeting, bringing along a photo album. When she requested help in finding opportunities, I responded as I usually do, saying that I would try. Following our meeting, she sent me a message on her laptop, expressing appreciation for my courteous behavior. At no point during our interaction did she express any discomfort or dissatisfaction with my conduct. After that, I did not hear from her for a long time.

In 2022, the same woman contacted me again, this time introducing herself under a different name. She requested a large sum of financial assistance. When I expressed my inability to help, she said that even one lakh rupees would suffice and sent me a WhatsApp message requesting this amount. When I refused to give the money, she informed me in another message that she had asked individuals from a specific community to intervene in the matter. A few days later, another person claiming to be her husband called me, demanding a significant amount of money. This group, which repeatedly blackmailed me for money, has now turned against me when given the opportunity.

I am revealing this matter based on the evidence I have, including the messages she sent me. I am not someone who will stand by while anyone’s dignity or reputation is tarnished. However, I will not succumb to blackmail tactics. The truth must come out, and those who set traps to destroy others’ lives by creating a smokescreen of allegations must be isolated. I will proceed with strong legal action against such individuals.”

(As the name of the complainant, the person raising the allegations, and the survivor cannot be disclosed, the name of the woman making the allegations has been omitted from Mukesh’s post.)
