High Court Grants Anticipatory Bail to Director V.K. Prakash in Sexual Assault Case

Date:

Kochi: The High Court has granted anticipatory bail to director V.K. Prakash in a sexual assault case. The court considered that the accused had no prior criminal background when granting bail. The court has also directed the accused to appear before the investigating officer. It specified that if an arrest occurs, the accused should be released on bail. The investigation team has been given three days to question the director.

A female writer has accused director V.K. Prakash of sexual misconduct. The complaint alleges that Prakash summoned her to a hotel in Kollam, where he sexually harassed her under the pretense of discussing a film. The woman also claimed that Prakash tried to silence her by sending her ₹10,000.

In response, V.K. Prakash has filed a complaint with the DGP, alleging that the woman’s complaint is fabricated. He claimed that the woman had approached him with a film story, but when he rejected it as unsuitable for a movie, he provided ₹10,000 through his driver as compensation for her return trip.
