Kochi: MLA M. Mukesh has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault complaint. The arrest was made by a special investigation team. He appeared before the SIT for questioning today. Following the questioning, he was arrested. Mukesh was taken to the general hospital for a medical examination. Since he has pre-arrest bail, he will be released after completing the formalities. The station bail has been set at two lakh rupees.
This morning at 10:15 AM, Mukesh appeared before the special investigation team with his lawyer. The questioning lasted until 1:15 PM. The North Paravur and Maradu police have registered two cases against Mukesh, which were the subject of the questioning.
The arrest was made based on a complaint filed by an actress from Aluva. The Maradu police registered the case following the actress’s complaint. The actress had raised allegations against Mukesh and six others in the film industry. She subsequently submitted her complaint to the special investigation team via email. Cases were then filed against those named, including Mukesh, based on the actress’s statement. The case was registered under IPC section 354.
