Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Police have opposed Mukesh’s anticipatory bail application, requesting that bail not be granted. They will provide a statement in this regard at the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court tomorrow. The police argue that Mukesh should be questioned in custody and that granting bail could potentially undermine the case.
Mukesh faces charges of sexual assault. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) will inform the court about the need for a detailed investigation. The police are also seeking to deny bail to Advocate Chandrashekhar, who is named as an accused alongside Mukesh in a complaint of misconduct filed by an actress from Aluva.
Despite calls for Mukesh’s resignation following the allegations, the CPM has expressed support for him. CPM State Secretary M. V. Govindan clarified yesterday that the party will not demand Mukesh MLA’s resignation in light of the sexual allegations.
