Siddique to be Questioned by Investigation Team on Sexual Assault Case on Monday

Date:

Kochi: Actor Siddique, who is accused in a sexual assault case, will be questioned by the investigation team on Monday. The team has issued a notice requiring Siddique to appear for questioning. The notice was served by the Assistant Commissioner of Narcotic Cell in Thiruvananthapuram. He has been advised to attend the questioning in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. This move comes just days after Siddique secured interim bail from the Supreme Court.

Siddique had informed the Special Investigation Team that he would be available for questioning regarding the allegations of sexual assault against the actress. He communicated this via email before a detailed hearing scheduled in the Supreme Court on the 22nd of this month. The questioning of Siddique is significant for both the investigation team and the actor, as the stance taken by both parties will be based on the outcome of the questioning when the Supreme Court reviews the case again.

The investigation team had previously convened to decide on the matter of questioning Siddique. There were indications of confusion within the team regarding whether to complete the questioning before the final verdict or to wait until after the verdict was delivered.
