Police Driver charged with attempted murder of a petrol pump employee

Kannur: A police driver was charged with the attempted murder of a petrol pump employee in Kannur. The Kerala Motor Vehicle Department plans to suspend the driver’s license of police.

Kannur police mess grade ASI driver K. Santosh Kumar (50) allegedly attempted to kill the petrol pump employee by hitting the latter with his car and driving some distance while the employee clung to the vehicle’s bonnet.

The employee protesting the police driver unwilling to pay for the petrol price, was first hit by the car and fell on the bonnet, the car carried him nearly a km clinging to the bonnet to save himself.
The accused has been arrested and suspended from service.
