Kerala University Rejects UGC Proposal Mandating NET Score for PhD Admission

Thiruvananthapuram: In a remarkable decision, the University of Kerala has rejected the University Grants Commission (UGC) proposal to mandate National Eligibility Test (NET) scores for PhD research eligibility.

Instead, the Syndicate, which met here on Friday, flagged off a subcommittee’s recommendation to consider candidates who qualify for both the NET and the university’s PhD entrance examination as eligible to pursue research.
