Thrissur: Details regarding the alleged black money funneled into the state for the BJP during the last assembly elections have come to light. This information is based on the testimony of Dharmarajan, one of the parties involved in the Kodakara money laundering case.
According to the testimony, most of the money arrived in Thrissur, with ₹12 crores specifically reaching that district. It has been reported that black money flowed from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram.
The testimony claims that ₹1.5 crores were given to the Kozhikode area secretary after a trip to Kasaragod, ₹1 crore to Kozhikode, and ₹1.5 crore to Alappuzha. In total, the initial inquiry suggests that ₹8 crores were embezzled. It is stated that ₹41 crores arrived in Kerala during the election period, with approximately ₹14 crores coming directly from Karnataka. Out of this, ₹8 crores were embezzled, with ₹3.5 crores allegedly taken in Kodakara and ₹4.5 crores in Sale.
The breakdown of the funds includes ₹1.4 crores for Kannur, ₹1.5 crores for the Kozhikode area secretary, ₹1 crore for Kozhikode, ₹1.5 crores for Alappuzha, ₹12 crores arriving in Thrissur, and over ₹10 crores in Thiruvananthapuram. Dharmarajan disclosed these details to the police regarding the total amount that came to Kerala during the 2021 assembly elections. The police have informed the ED and the IT departments about these revelations.
The testimony states that ₹11.5 crores were given in Thiruvananthapuram. Dharmarajan’s account includes names of those who received black money between March 5 and April 5, 2021. It is reported that ₹4.5 crores meant for Palakkad were embezzled in Sale.
In Aluva, ₹50 lakhs were handed over to a leader, while ₹1.1 crores were given in Alappuzha, including funds for office staff. In Kasaragod, ₹1.5 crores were provided to the area secretary, and ₹1.5 crores were also reportedly given to the vice president of Kozhikode. There was a proposal to transfer ₹3.5 crores to the district treasurer in Alappuzha, among the funds alleged to have been embezzled. Additionally, ₹1.4 crores were reported given in Pathanamthitta, and the money brought to Palakkad was stolen in Salem.
