Thiruvananthapuram: The election campaigns in Wayanad and Chelakkara in Kerala are set to conclude today as the political alliances make their final push in the closing hours. In both constituencies, candidates are racing to cover as many locations as possible, seeking every last vote.
In Wayanad, the alliances are preparing for a last-minute surge. Rahul Gandhi will join the campaign today to boost the enthusiasm, with Priyanka Gandhi accompanying him. They will participate in roadshows in Sulthan Bathery in the morning and Thiruvampadi in the evening. The roadshows will see both leaders together in these locations. LDF candidate Sathyan Mokeri will join the campaign in Sulthan Bathery at St. Mary’s College, while the event in Kalpetta will see him joined by Minister P. Prasad and other leaders. The NDA candidate Navya Haridas’ campaign will also conclude in Kalpetta today.
In the evening, at around 4:30 PM, the candidates and workers will gather at the Chelakkara Bus Stand area for the final rush. There will also be campaigns at the Panchayat level. The election campaign in the constituency will end today with an unprecedented level of enthusiasm and energy. The Left Front’s campaign for retaining the sitting seat focused on showcasing governance achievements while responding cautiously to controversies. On the other hand, the UDF camp worked throughout the day, focusing on anti-government sentiments and organizing activities at the booth level. The BJP also joined in with their campaigns, working alongside both alliances. This evening, all three candidates will participate in a final rally at Chelakkara Town.
Meanwhile, as Chelakkara and Wayanad gear up for their final election rush, candidates in Palakkad continue with their campaigns. UDF candidate Rahul Mankoottzthil will campaign in various areas of the constituency today. K. Muraleedharan will remain active in the constituency and will join a farmers’ tractor rally in the morning. Under the leadership of K. Surendran, BJP will also organize a tractor rally. LDF candidate P. Sarin will focus on campaigning in urban areas, while BJP candidates will hold family meetings, with K. Surendran also attending these events.
In the Palakkad by-election, the issue of agricultural problems will be highlighted today, as both UDF and NDA conduct tractor marches. At 7:30 AM, the UDF-led farmers’ protection tractor march will begin from Kannadi, with K. Muraleedharan inaugurating the event. The march will raise various issues faced by farmers, including problems related to rice storage. At 10:30 AM, the BJP will also conduct its own tractor march, focusing on farmers’ issues. This march will begin from Kannadi Pathikkal and will be inaugurated by actor Krishna Prasad.
