New Delhi: Former Delhi Transport Minister and senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kailash Gehlot has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His decision to join the BJP came shortly after he resigned from both the AAP membership and his ministerial position. Gehlot joined the BJP in the presence of Delhi BJP President Virender Sachdeva.
Gehlot was responsible for the departments of IT and Women & Child Development in the Delhi government. Commenting on Gehlot’s move to the BJP, AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated, “He is independent, and he is free to go wherever he wants.”
